Pre-Service Check List
Know your Passwords and Disable "Find My"

Mac Pros does not want your passwords¹. However, we may need you to know them.

Apple requires that "Find My", "Activation Lock", and/or "Stolen Device Protection" be disabled (turned off) prior to service or replacement. Mac Pros does not have access to Apple ID systems and cannot change Apple ID passwords. A Mac Pros team member may be available to guide you through resetting or recovering your Apple ID password which may result in a service charge.

Mac Pros team members understand and respect your privacy as if it was their own. Team members request passwords only when necessary. Upon request and where possible, device passwords can be temporarily changed or other measures can be taken so as not to expose your password(s) or other sensitive information.

PLEASE NOTE: Mac Pros does not have access to Apple ID systems and cannot do anyting more to recover or reset Apple ID passwords than what you can do on your device(s) or at For assistance with Apple ID passwords, please utilize the options on your device(s), at, or call Apple at 1-800-275-2273.

Backup your Data

Mac: backing up your data to an external hard drive is highly recommended. Backup service may be available with your consent - service fees apply.

Apple Watch: inherently backed up to the iPhone that it is paired to but please DO NOT unpair the Apple Watch prior to service and please bring the iPhone that the Apple Watch is paired with.

iPhone/iPad/iPod: iCloud may be the most convenient backup method and may require purchasing more iCloud storage from Apple. Alternatively, you can back up iPhone and iPad using your computer. To protect your data and your privacy, Mac Pros is prohibited by Apple from backing up iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple Watch to a computer or other device owned or controlled by Mac Pros.

What to Expect
At Mac Pros you can expect professional, friendly, knowlegable, and experienced staff that will help guide you throughout the check-in and repair process.
Upon check-in you will receive a repair estimate. If the initial estimate turns out to be inaccurate, you will be notified before our certified technicians move forward with any repairs. Throughout the service process you will receive text, email, and phone communications.
